Research Partnership & Academic Use Guidelines

Effective Date: 1 April, 2026

Version: 1.0

Anthriq welcomes collaboration with researchers, academic institutions, and independent scientists advancing the frontiers of neuroscience, biosignal processing, and human-aware technology. These guidelines govern the terms under which Anthriq's hardware, software, algorithms, signal processing and machine learning models, and data infrastructure may be used for research purposes.

These guidelines apply to all individuals and institutions that access Anthriq products or platforms under a research collaboration, hardware loan, or academic partnership arrangement.

Definitions

For the purposes of these guidelines, the following terms apply:

"Intellectual Property (IP)" refers to all of Anthriq's proprietary creations, innovations, and rights, including inventions, discoveries, designs, processes, improvements, hardware designs, circuit designs, firmware, software, source code, algorithms, signal processing and machine learning models, SDKs, APIs, technical documentation, know-how, trade secrets, patents, trademarks, copyrights, and any other tangible or intangible creation related to Anthriq's work, whether or not patentable, copyrightable, or otherwise registered.

"Research Agreement / MoU" refers to any written agreement between Anthriq and a researcher or institution governing the terms of a research collaboration.

1. Data & IP Ownership

1.1 Research Data

All data generated through the use of Anthriq hardware, software, or platform in the course of a research project belongs exclusively to the researcher and/or their affiliated institution. Anthriq makes no claim of ownership over such research data.

1.2 Anonymized Data Sharing

Where a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or Research Agreement between Anthriq and the institution expressly permits it, anonymized and de-identified biosignal data may be shared with Anthriq for the purpose of improving platform performance, model training, or dataset development. Such sharing is strictly opt-in and must be explicitly agreed upon in writing. In the absence of such agreement, no data sharing obligation exists.

1.3 Researcher IP

Any novel research findings, algorithms, models, methods, or intellectual property developed by a researcher or institution using Anthriq products belongs fully to the researcher and/or their institution. Anthriq makes no claim over such outputs.

1.4 Anthriq IP — Restrictions

Anthriq retains full and exclusive ownership of all its proprietary technology, including but not limited to its hardware designs, firmware, software, SDKs, APIs, signal processing algorithms, datasets, and platform architecture. The following restrictions apply unconditionally:

  • Anthriq's IP may not be transferred, assigned, sublicensed, or made subject to any exclusive or irrevocable license arrangement under any circumstance.
  • No researcher, institution, or third party may modify, alter, adapt, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code or underlying architecture from any Anthriq product, software, or platform.
  • Access granted under a research collaboration is a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license solely for the purposes defined in the applicable MoU or research agreement.
1.5 Accurate Representation of Anthriq Technology

Researchers are responsible for accurately representing Anthriq's products, specifications, and capabilities in all publications, presentations, and communications. Misquoting technical specifications, overstating product capabilities, or misrepresenting how Anthriq's technology functions — whether intentional or inadvertent — is not permitted. Where uncertainty exists, researchers should consult Anthriq prior to publication.

2. Citation & Acknowledgment Guidelines

2.1 Mandatory Acknowledgment

All research outputs — including but not limited to journal articles, conference papers, theses, technical reports, and preprints — that utilized Anthriq hardware, software, platform, or data infrastructure must include an acknowledgment of Anthriq's contribution.

Recommended acknowledgment line:

"This research was conducted using hardware, software, and/or biosignal infrastructure provided by Anthriq. For more information, visit www.anthriq.com."

2.2 Citation Format

Where a formal citation is required, researchers should use the following format, adapted to the citation style of the target publication:

Anthriq. [Product/Platform Name, if applicable]. Anthriq Technologies. [Year of Use]. Available at: https://www.anthriq.com

If a specific product, dataset, or platform component was used, researchers are encouraged to name it specifically (e.g., Instinct EEG System, Anthriq Biosignal Platform) within the citation or methods section.

2.3 Methods Section

Researchers are encouraged to describe Anthriq products used in their study within the Methods section of their publication, including relevant technical specifications such as channel count, sampling rate, signal modalities, and software version where applicable. This ensures reproducibility and accurate representation of the technology.

2.4 Branding

Anthriq's name and branding must not be misrepresented in any publication, presentation, or poster. Use of Anthriq's logo in academic posters or presentations is permitted provided it is not altered and is used in a manner consistent with its purpose as an acknowledgment of tool or platform usage.

3. Co-authorship & Credit

3.1 No Authorship Claim

Anthriq does not claim co-authorship of research publications arising from the use of its products or platform. Researchers retain full authorship and academic credit for their work.

3.2 Anthriq Team Contributions

Where Anthriq team members have made a substantive intellectual contribution to the research — such as co-designing the study, contributing to data analysis, or developing custom technical solutions — co-authorship may be discussed and agreed upon separately between the parties. This must be established in writing prior to the commencement of the relevant research activity.

3.3 Acknowledgment of Support

Where Anthriq has provided hardware, software access, technical support, or data resources, researchers should acknowledge this contribution as described in Section 2, even where no co-authorship is applicable.

4. Publication Review Process

4.1 Pre-Publication Review

We kindly ask that researchers share a draft of any publication referencing Anthriq products, platforms, or technology at least 30 days prior to submission to a journal, conference, or preprint server, to allow time for review. Drafts should be shared with Anthriq at collaboration@anthriq.com.

4.2 Scope of Review

Anthriq's review is limited to:

  • Identifying factual inaccuracies in the description of its products, platform, or technology
  • Flagging unintended disclosure of confidential or proprietary information
  • Verifying that citation and acknowledgment requirements under these guidelines are met
4.3 No Veto Right

Anthriq does not hold approval or veto rights over any research publication. Researchers retain full academic freedom and editorial independence. Anthriq's feedback during the review period is advisory only.

4.4 Review Timeline

Anthriq will endeavour to provide feedback, if any, within 15 days of receiving the draft. If no response is received within this period, the researcher may proceed with submission.

5. Permitted & Restricted Research

5.1 Permitted Research

Anthriq's products and platform may be used for a broad range of research purposes, including but not limited to:

  • Cognitive neuroscience and brain-computer interface research

Researchers working in sensitive domains, including defense and aerospace, are responsible for ensuring their research complies with all applicable national and international laws, export control regulations, and ethical standards. Anthriq is not liable for the downstream use or application of research findings.

6. Press & Media

6.1 Permitted Mentions

Researchers and institutions are permitted to mention Anthriq and its products in press interviews, media features, conference presentations, social media, and other public communications in the context of describing their research.

6.2 Notification

While prior approval is not required for press or media mentions, researchers are encouraged to notify Anthriq at collaboration@anthriq.com when a publication or media feature referencing Anthriq is live or forthcoming. This helps Anthriq support and amplify the research where appropriate.

6.3 Restrictions

The following are not permitted in any press, media, or public communication:
